How to Handle Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day lumps two things that are very difficult for most people with eating disorders--food and relationships. Many of our holidays use food as a way to enhance the celebration, and it's traditional to have parties and other gatherings.

Valentine's Day turns up the heat even more, because it's set aside to enjoy intimate relationships. Intimacy can be very difficult when an eating disorder is involved.

To provide a boost entering Wednesday's festivities, here are some thoughts about how to plan for Valentine's Day when you or someone you love has an eating disorder:
