Closing Health Insurance Gaps

Saturday October 4, 2008

The high cost of health insurance is a big obstacle for many, and even those who do have insurance might find that it doesn't pay for eating disorders (yet). It makes sense to work assertively with your health insurance provider to get payment to which you're entitled. When that doesn't work, other avenues exist.

To offset some of the costs that people might incur as they pursue treatment, a group called Shelly's Angels Society in British Columbia is raising funds. For those who qualify, Shelly's Angels provides full or partial subsidies of $2,800 and $1,400 (Canadian, I assume), respectively.

Shelly's Angels will hold a fundraising conference and trade show tomorrow, October 5, at the Evergreen Cultural Center (1205 Pinetree Way) in Coquitlam, BC. Entitled "Until Your Heart's Content," the conference is selling tickets at $120 each with a discount for multiple tickets. You can get tickets for this event at (604) 927-6555 or by e-mail at info@untilyourheartscontent.com.
