Remember Twiggy?
Many of you probably don't; Twiggy was before my time, too. She was a model in the 1960s; the first, perhaps, to be extremely thin. Some point to her as the start of a long downhill trend into unhealthily thin models.
This quote from an interview is classic:
"In my early 40s I developed a bit of a middle-age spread, so now I follow a healthy-eating regime. I don't believe in dieting, it's all just so boring."
But she also says:
"I only allow myself one pudding a month."
Hmm. Seems to me that even if she said she only allowed herself one helping of haggis a month, or one serving of liver and onions, or one crouton, or one latte, she'd still be restricting food intake, however moderately. Exactly how can a "regime" be healthy eating?
