Which Level of Care is Right for You?

In an ideal world, all eating disorders would be able to be treated on an outpatient basis without interruption of school or work.  (Actually, in a really ideal world, there wouldn't be any eating disorders...) However, given the nature of eating disorders as serious and potentially deadly mental illnesses, many sufferers need a higher level of care for treatment.  This can take many forms including intensive outpatient programs, residential treatment and even inpatient hospitalization.

Weighing these options can be difficult and the decision to seek more intense treatment is never easy.  Learn more about each level of care and the guidelines for admittance to each one.
