How often do you think, "I can't have that. I'll really like it and then I won't be able to stop"? If you do, you're not alone. The trouble is that denying yourself certain foods over a period of time may set you up for binge eating or more rigid food restriction.

Many people find that once they try certain foods, they lose their allure. Just because a food is rich doesn't mean that you'll like it.

And if you do? Congratulations! You've found a new food that you enjoy. If you pay attention to when you're satisfied, listening to your body's signals, you'll feel comfortable after eating--not guilty over a binge. Foods that we really enjoy tend to satisfy us more quickly, allowing us to eat less if we're aware of what our bodies tell us.
