"I Vomit After I Have Eaten"

Most of us know that vomiting, or purging, is a symptom of bulimia nervosa. However, it can also be a sign of anorexia nervosa, purging type. If the person who vomits after meals and snacks also refuses to maintain a fairly healthy weight, a diagnosis of anorexia is more appropriate.

Also note that purging disorder is a label that is growing in popularity. If there is purging without binging and the person maintains a relatively healthy weight, this disorder (not yet an official diagnosis) may be present.
