When Emotions Lead to Eating That Is Out of Control

When a person attempts to soothe negative feelings through eating, it can lead to eating that becomes out of control. The eating may be a reflection of the sense that his emotions are out of control.

Still, this kind of eating can be a distraction from the emotions themselves. For example, if he is anxious, the person may assume that it is associated with the lack of eating control, when it really has more to do with another, more fundamental emotional struggle.
